Cladding Modified Fiber Bragg Grating for Copper Ions Detection

چکیده

This paper reports a fiber Bragg grating (FBG) as biosensor. The FBGs were etched using chemical agent,namely,hydrofluoric acid (HF). implies the removal of some part cladding layer. Consequently, evanescent field propagating out core will be closer to environment and become more sensitive change in surrounding. proposed FBG sensor was utilized detect toxic heavy metal ions aqueous medium namely, copper (Cu2+). Two sensors with 20 40 μm diameters fabricated. studied towards Cu2+ different concentrations wavelength shift result interaction between ions. showed good response terms significant corresponding varying when immersed mediums. exhibited excellent repeatability Cu ions.The results demonstrate that smaller etching diameter, better optical linearity.
